If You Missed 1984, Don't Worry... We're Livin' It Now

In today's 'toon, Chuckles the Sensible Woodchuck engages in colloquy about the war on terror with Sparky the Wonder Penguin. In our parallel universe, Rachel Maddow has written a book — Drift: The Unmooring of American Military Power (2012) — that sits atop today's NY Fishwrap's Best-Seller (Non-Fiction) List. Maddow argues that it has become too easy for the USA to wage war. The Sensible Woodchuck says "Whatever...." about the war on terror. George Orwell was dead-right about wars on whatever in 1984 (1949, 1977). If this is a (fair & balanced) example of art imitating life, so be it.
