The past three mornings, Rat (or Stephan Pastis) has made me laugh out loud (LOL) as I perused the comics section of the Austin Fishwrap. On Wednesday, Rat's efforts to date the red-haired (Xmas) tree lot girl (also a Rat) came to naught. As if on a mission to redeem himself, Rat bursts into Goat's world proclaiming himself to be a super hero (Ego Man?).
Ego Man's faithful companion (Pig as Captain Too-Fat-To-Be-Of-Assistance-Boy) wears a paper bag over his head (down to his snout) and a pair of tidy whiteys. In the last panel, Zebra asks Ego Man about his companion and Pig/Captain yada yada yada, shouts "Gadzooks!" If this is (fair & balanced) cynicism on steroids, so be it.
