Along with the e-mail that contained today's TMW 'toon, Tom/Dan wrote
Hey, All
So, this week we had the final impeachment vote, the Iowa caucus clusterfuck, and the State of the Union. And I was traveling this week, and working remotely! The Rand Paul thing is probably not quite as important as everything else going on, but there's something I find particularly irritating about this pompous libertarian using his power as a United States Senator to expose the whistleblower's identity for no other reason than payback, and of course to please his "lord and master."
Trump takes up so much oxygen I've barely even written about the Democratic primary so far, but I suppose that will change in coming weeks. We're in the "vote for MY candidate or I'll shoot this dog" phase of the cycle, and god do I hate primary season. It just breaks everyone's brains. This is a (slightly revised) cartoon from 2016 that I re-ran last summer when I was on vacation, and I think I put it back out into the world too soon -- this is the moment in the cycle that it was really meant to address.
Until next week....
Dan/Tom
And without any further retrospective messages, here is today's 'toon. If this is (fair & balanced) editorial brusqueness, so be it.
