In the 1980s, Dutch would sneer at the "Welfare Queens" — obese African-American (what else?) women — buying beer and cigarettes with food stamps (paid for by decent white taxpayers) and carrying their booty out of the store to their Cadillacs (also ill-gotten). The knuckle-dragging and drooling Righties would scream in outrage. Nearly thirty years later, the knuckledraggers and droolers are frothing at the mouth over ACORN. In the meantime, the real Welfare Queens are actually (Corporate) Welfare Kings and they have scammed more than beer and cigarettes from the System. Instead of ACORN, the howls should be directed at Goldman Sachs and the other recipients of $700B in WELFARE! Instead of ACORN, howl at the corporations that purchase life insurance policies in the names of employees ("Dead Peasant" policies) that pay the corporation, not the family, when that employee dies and the family is never the wiser. ACORN is peanuts and the Righty wackos are nuts. If this is (fair & balanced) fear and loathing, so be it.
