¡Hola, Xenófobos! Go Back Where You Came From!

Xenophobia is rampant and The Deadline Poet (Calvin Trillin) offers a quatrain that displays our most common national hypocrisy. "Secure the border!" is the catchphrase among the xenophobes. Illegal border crossings in the Southwest are at a current low, but the loons cry for more (and higher) fences, mas Las Migras (more INS officers), and — most laughably — self-deportation. A plague on these fools in our midst! If this is a (fair & balanced) call for toleration, so be it.
