Welcome To The World Of Magical Thinking & Fantastical Dreams

In his e-mail yesterday, Tom Tomorrow (Dan Perkins) supplied today's 'toon and his accompanying message:

Well here we are again!

Given that it’s really the one thing required of me in this current life, it’s extraordinary how long it takes me to finish a cartoon these days. But I think a lot of people are operating at less than full efficiency. Everybody’s doing the best they can.

The germ of the idea for this one was to somehow portray the world as Trump wishes it were/pretends it is. Once it started coming together as a dream sequence, I decided to have some fun with the art. The floating eyeballs are a recurrent motif I use to indicate either dream sequences or surreal reality-collapsing scenarios, though it’s been a little awhile since I’ve done either. They don't really have any deeper symbolism beyond that.

Until next week…,

Dan/Tom

Today's 'toon about dreams makes this blogger wonder what Signmund Freud would think about The *ILK (*Impeached But Not Removed) Lyin' King. If this is (fair & balanced) psychiatric supposition, so be it.

"The Liar Tweets Tonight" (Parody of "The Lion Sleeps Tonight")
By Roy Zimmerman and The ReZisters, featuring Sandy Riccardi

This genius parody has become this blogger's current earworm and Resistance Anthem. So, if this is a (fair & balanced) first step toward doing the right thing, so be it.
