Roll Over, Mark Hanna — Make Way For The New Magical Poitical Consultant: The LK (Lyin' King)

For this blogger, there were two bright moments in the past two weeks: the gubernatorial races in both Kentucky and Louisiana (both carried by The LK (Lyin' King) in 2016, In Kentucky, The LK's boy (Mat Bevin) was defeated for a second term by Andy Beshear despite LK "rallies" to get out the GOP vote. And in Louisiana John Bel Edwards, despite three (3!) pre-election LK "rallies," defeated a slavish MAGA-boy who climbed sure win because of the LK-endorsement. All those "fallies" with the air travel on Air Force One at taxpayer expense and a string of fraudulent failures to pay for arena rent and other local expenses for the support personnel: security, vendors, down to parking lot attendants. It was a familiar pattern of behavior by the LK in NYC that resulted in multiple bankruptcies to avoid payment to banks, property-sellers, contractors, and construction companies. If this is (fair & balanced) behavior that accompanies a grifter who claims to be a billionair (and isn'), so be it.

Delivering an ominous threat to members of his own party, Donald J. Trump warned congressional Republicans on Monday that if they vote for impeachment he would come to their states and campaign for their reëlection.

In a series of intimidating, early-morning tweets, Trump made it clear that if Republicans wobble on impeachment, “I will hold rallies in your state and support you with everything I’ve got.”

Making it clear that his threat was far from hollow, Trump tweeted an image of a “Keep America Great” banner and warned, “I used these in Louisiana and Kentucky. Don’t think I won’t use them in your state!”

Trump’s threat to campaign enthusiastically for disloyal Republicans had an immediate impact on Monday, as several GOP congresspeople who had previously called the President’s actions toward Ukraine “troubling” revised their assessment to “probably no big deal, now that I think about it.” ###
