Enjoy The New Adventures Of "Trumpie Bear," Who Barely — Actually Fails — To Qualify As A Decent Character

When this blogger discovered the comic section of the Denver fishwraps (The Rocky Mountain News and The Denver Post) more than 70 years ago, and he plowed through "Li'l Abner," "Pogo," "Little Orphan Annie," "Terry and the Pirates," "Dagwood," "Steve Canyon," and on and on. Now, this blogger subscribes to "This Modern World" and this blog has its own funny paper (though the tone and images are horrifying of late and blogger pushes on. And, on that melancholy note, Tom Tomorrow/Dan Perkins wrote yesterday:

Hey all —

Short note this week, I'm literally on my way out the door to see my kid up in New Haven as soon as I get this one posted. I should note, for those of you who don't spend 100 hours a day on Twitter, that this is based on an actual product, a commercial for which was making the rounds last week. Google "Trumpy Bear" with a Y — I changed the spelling for my take on it. The whole ad defies parody, but the idea of a horrific Trump-faced teddy bear stuck in my head.

Hope you all have a great Thanksgiving; more from me next week (as always) ....

So, boys and girls (There was a radio show in Denver where a performer read and animated the most popular comic strips and the listeners were addressed as children.) — the world goes on and on. If this is a (fair & balanced) antidote to our daily miasma, so be it.
