Today — Maga-Spex For Mega-Suckers

Tom/Dan wrote in the e-mail accompanying this week's 'toon:

This is a new take on a theme I've used a couple of times before (sparingly, over the course of 15 years or so) — my version of X-Ray Spex, which I used to call “Red State Spex" (they showed you the world as conservatives saw it). But it occurred to me that the red state/blue state shorthand doesn’t quite capture our particular political moment. So I went with MAGA-VISION SPEX, which will show you the truth about climate change and those insidious Dreamers, as seen by Trump's hardcore base.

I’m going to be queueing up the next few weeks worth of Sparky's List mailings in advance, so there may or may not be any additional commentary in the next few emails, depending on whether I have time to write anything up while traveling [in Italy] — and depending on my internet access, which in my experience can be hit-or-miss in the sorts of hotels I’ll be staying in. You’ll still get the cartoons, I’m just not sure about the bonus verbiage!

Until next time,

Dan (aka Tom)

A long-gone sports columnist in the Amarillo, TX Fishwrap had a shtick of awarding "Kudos" to the things he liked and "Brickbats" to bad things (in his opinion). So — original as ever — this blogger awards a Kudo to today's "This Modern World" for witty and sardonic snark about the Mainstream Media and Brickbat for the closing line that insinuated that the fictional Maga-Spex were available for sale in the Traitors' Web site. This gullible blogger went to the site and searched for any mention of Maga-Spex: Nada. However, that might have been a joke within a joke because most of garbage for sale there had no value whatever. The fools who buy Trump Steaks or Trump Water would buy Maga-Spex without a thought. If this is (fair & balanced) Mega-Naïveté, so be it.
