Today, In The Age Of "Fake News" — Meet The "Fake Detective" In The Oval Office Uncovering "Fake Conspiracies"

In the e-mail that brought today's TMW 'toon to the blogger's In Box, Tom/Dan also wrote:

Hey all,

Another installment in the continuing adventures of the world’s greatest President-Detective! I wanted to comment on the oddness of Barr not recusing himself from the investigation of Epstein’s apparent suicide, though of course within the reality of the strip, the great detective himself would presumably “solve” the case — hence the second panel in which he acknowledges his own superiority but nonetheless hands off the investigation to his underling. I try to keep these things internally consistent, to the degree possible!

I’m taking next week off to spend time with my son, so next week’s strip is likely to be a rerun [italics supplied], but I’ll try to choose a good one.

The “rat” shirts are now shipping — here’s my friend Natalia Antonova modeling hers.

Until next time,

Dan/Tom

Tom's/Dan's alert to a rerun 'toon next week poses an editorial problem for this blogger. However, this might be a likely form of self-importance that loses is validity when reruns of TMW 'toons have occurred in the past albeit lacking a warning alert from the 'toonist. Stay tuned.

If this is a (fair & balanced) example of needless dithering, so be it.
