The news from America’s concentration camps is more awful every time we learn a little more. The DHS’s own Office of Inspector General released a report detailing dangerous overcrowding and unhealthy conditions, outbreaks of flu, chickenpox and scabies have been recorded, and border agents are apparently “arming themselves and drinking” in response to the pressure of the awful conditions.
This will not end well.
Meanwhile, Trump got the big military celebration he’s been hoping for since he saw the Bastille Day parade a few years ago, or at least some version of it — there were a few tanks on display but it wasn’t exactly a Red Square-style show of force.

In today's installment of TMW, Biff (sans Wanda) hosts a "discussion" on Action McNews with the "Serious Centrist" on the left and a Trumper on the right about the horrible crimes against humanity on the US border with Mexico. The final panel is a horrifying illustration of ambivalence toward evil. If this is a (fair & balanced) parable at the approach of mid-century, so be it.

[Dan Perkins is an editorial cartoonist better known by the pen name "Tom Tomorrow." His weekly comic strip, "This Modern World," which comments on current events from a strong liberal perspective, appears regularly in approximately 150 papers across the U.S., as well as on Daily Kos. The strip debuted in 1990 in SF Weekly. Perkins received the Robert F. Kennedy Award for Excellence in Journalism in both 1998 and 2002. When he is not working on projects related to his comic strip, Perkins writes a daily political blog, also entitled "This Modern World," which he began in December 2001. More recently, Dan Perkins, pen name Tom Tomorrow, was named the winner of the 2013 Herblock Prize for editorial cartooning. Even more recently, Dan Perkins was a runner-up for the 2015 Pulitzer Prize for Editorial Cartooning.]
