Roll Over, Gene Roddenberry — The Current White House Is Operating With Spoken Shields Up!

A message from Dan/Tom accompanied today's 'toon:

The Mueller indictments, and the Papadopoulos plea bargain agreement, suggest that there’s more on the way. Trump, of course, knows whatever it is that might be revealed, but he’s spent 40 years blustering his way past inconvenient laws and annoying media reports, and thinks he can do the same now. The system has constrained his authoritarian impulses more than I expected, but the main thing holding him back has been his own incompetence. We could easily slide into autocracy, and a shocking number of Americans would be just fine with that. It’s a dangerous (and exhausting) moment, and I hope democracy survives it in some recognizable form.

Until next week,
Dan (aka Tom)

This comic opera reminds this blogger of "Star Trek's" "Deflector Shields" for protection from natural hazards and enemy weaponry. The idiot minions in the White House attempt to provide cover for the Moron-in-Chief with a variety of deflections. If this is (fair & balanced) criminal incompetence, so be it.
