Here's A Modest Proposal For Future 'Toons From The Planet Glox

To assist those readers who may not understand Glox-speak, this explanation was supplied by the wise Wikipedia:

Planet Glox:

Actually shown is only a newscast from Glox with two anchor-aliens. Their newscast resembles "Faux" News, and they report about news strikingly similar to that on earth, but in factual scientific terminology (i.e., "Coneheads"-style), thereby making, for example, fun of the public obsession with the sexual activities of public figures by referring to the global importance of touching reproductive organs.
.

And Dan/Tom further explained:

Longtime readers know that I’ve done so many cartoons reacting to gun massacres, I could probably publish a book of that work alone, though it would certainly be the world’s most depressing cartoon compilation. It’s a complicated thing, to have to constantly write cartoons about tragedies — though of course, these cartoons aren’t about the tragedies themselves, so much as the idiotic arguments which always emerge afterwards, and haven’t really changed in 20 years — it’s not about guns, it’s about mental illness, or video games, or some other damn thing; if people didn’t have guns, they’d use knives or bombs or beat their victims to death with lawn chairs; laws against guns are not guaranteed to be effective so we shouldn’t even bother, which of course is why we have no laws against rape, murder, burglary, etc. It really does feel like we’re stuck in a loop that we can’t get out of, and I don’t pretend to know the answer at this point.

Anyway, I just wanted to take a slightly different approach to this one, and I think it’s literally been a couple of years since I used the Glox aliens, and so here we are. I really need to introduce the Glox version of Trump -- obviously he'd be orange, but given that these guys don't actually have hair on top of their heads, not sure how to represent the combover appropriately... but I'm sure I'll figure it out.

Until next week…,

Dan/Tom

Here's a suggestion for Tom/Dan: fret not over a Glox-version of the current occupant of the Oval Office because the Gloxians don't have hair on their heads. Instead, depict the Glox-version of the occupant as a steamin' mound of horse$hit. If this is a (fair & balanced) artistic suggestion, so be it.
