Today, This Blog Provides The Key To Understanding The Mucked-Up Fess That Is Our Daily Grind, 2018

To accompany today's sickening 'toon, Tom/Dan wrote:

I borrowed the title for this one from a book by Peter Pomerantsev [2014], a British writer born in Kiev who spent a lot of time in the Russian media world. It’s a series of personal essays loosely about the ways in which the Russian government and its media allies attempt to overwhelm the very concept of truth, so that people don’t know what to believe and therefore don’t believe anything. Which is pretty much what’s happening with these repeated stories like the Nunes memo, or the FBI texts, or a hundred other things — nonsense just gets thrown out so constantly, it’s (as someone else recently said) like a direct-denial-of-service attack on democracy itself. And once the story’s out, there’s no reeling it back in — in the right wing media ecosphere, the allegations are broadcast and the debunking ignored. It’s worth tuning in to Fox occasionally, just to get a sense of the parallel universe they have constructed for their viewers.

Until next week...

And so, today's 'toon is a metaphor for the mucked-up fess that is our world in 2018. It just gets crazier and crazier. If this is a (fair & balanced) portrayal of mass psychosis, so be it.
