A Rare Sound Is Heard In This Blog — A Complaint About Today's "The Modern World" Cartoon

Along with the 'toon for 2/4/2019, Tom/Dan wrote:

Howard Schultz is really not going to be the next president. With any luck, he will drop the idea entirely and none of us will ever speak of it again. But he did give me a week in which I did not have to draw or write about Donald Trump, so at least there's that silver lining.

Dan/Tom

Au contraire, dear cartoonist — this nation turns its lonely eyes to you for a courageous confrontation with the treason in our midst — with the Horse's A$$/Traitor in the Oval Office spending last week spewing lie after lie, falsehood amplified by another falsehood. To wit, the Oval Office response to the sworn testimony of the 17 heads of US intelligence agencies before the US Senate Select Committee on Intelligence in a hearing on January 29, 2019. The 17 chiefs concurred that the Horse's A$$/Traitor had offered misleading assessments about North Korean nuclear activities, ISIS, and Iranian nuclear activities. The A$$/Traitor claimed first that the 17 chiefs were wrong and later claimed that the 17 chiefs had been misquoted when the testimony was televised and widely reported in the media. This was the ultimate iteration of "Fake News" by a Russian traitor in the Oval Office. This event was worthy of a cartoon this week in "This Modern World," not nonsense about a loony billionaire who might run for president in 2020 as an independent. If this is a (fair & balanced) complaint about a cartoon undrawn, so be it.
