Today, This Blog Revels In "Them Damn Pictures"

Along with today's 'toon, Tom/Dan wrote:

I’ve mentioned to the fact that I’m going through a difficult moment of transition in my life, and some weeks are more complicated than others. Getting my brain into writing mode can feel like swimming through molasses. I’m actually happy with this cartoon, but it took about twice as long to write as it should have. One note about the look of it — in previous installments of the “thing that ate America’s brain,” I used a different lettering font, meant to evoke the old EC horror comics of the 1950s. I had to go with my usual font for this one because the other one takes up too much space, and I couldn’t fit in everything I wanted to, otherwise. I don’t know how many people even noticed that little touch, but I’ll probably return to it the next time I revisit this recurrent riff.

Until next week,

Dan/Tom

And on that melancholy note, Tom/Dan soldiers on. In the meantime, another 'toon by a Pulitzer Prize winner — Mike Peters of the Dayton Fishwrap — appealed to this Resistance-blogger: as the 'Toon O'The Week:

If this is in the (fair & balanced) tradition of Thomas Nast, so be it.
