Tom/Dan wrote in the e-mail that brought today's toon to the blogger's In Box:
This cartoon was written for last week, but was pre-empted by the emerging Roy Moore scandal, which is why there’s a panel about a gun massacre from which we’ve already moved on, because that’s America in 2017. The reason I set this one on Parallel Earth was a way to signal my understanding that the president can’t actually just unilaterally create new cabinet positions without congressional approval. Also I should note that the middle panel was actually a joke that cartoonist Wiley Miller ["Non Sequitur"] made on Twitter as I was finishing this up, and I immediately DM’d him and asked permission to steal it, which he graciously supplied. (I had something about Don Jr. in that spot, but it was the weakest panel anyway.)
Until next week,
Dan (aka Tom)
This blogger greatly prefers the AG of the United States over the GWH (Great White Hunter)-Wannabe in the middle panel of the 'toon: Ridiculous trumps Pathetic. And, speaking of pathetic, it is impossible to imagine a TMW 'toon so filled with pathetic characters. If this is a (fair & balanced) portrayal of patheticism, so be it.
