Along with today's 'toon, the e-mail also contained this message:
Hey all,
I was traveling last week, but had set aside some time to get a bit of work done as well, so I had a new cartoon finished and ready to go for this week, a goofy, evergreen-ish time travel thing that I still hope to run at some point. And then NEWS happened! I wrote a first draft of this cartoon on the plane home on Saturday, and then promptly left my notebook in the seat pocket. That was an awesome moment, when I got home and realized what I’d done. Fortunately it’s a pretty straightforward Action McNews format, and I remembered the general outline of what I’d written, but this is definitely a different cartoon than what I’d be sending out if I hadn’t lost my notebook. These things happen.
Anyway it’s Sunday evening and this is hot off the (figurative) presses — I just wrapped it up a few minutes ago. I don’t enjoy pushing it this close to deadline, but as my girlfriend points out, I chose this life.

The LK (Lyin' King) played "Wag the Dog" this weekend with a diversion/deflection of the news cycle away from impeachment and then The LK played the extortion card with a threat to hit sacred Iranian sites with drone attacks if there were further attacks on US troops or diplomatic properties like embassies or consulates. The Mainstream Media gobbled up this chum that was thrown out to attract media attention. Result: mission accomplished. The impeachment-chatter is now replaced by the sound of... crickets. Wherever he is, Nazi propaganda chief Josef Goebbels must be smiling at the masterful demonstration of media diversion/deflection. If this is (fair & balanced) disclosure of the Big Lie in 2020, so be it.
