As I wrote the last time I used this title, about two years ago:
I borrowed the title for this one from a book by Peter Pomerantsev, a British writer born in Kiev who spent a lot of time in the Russian media world. It’s a series of personal essays loosely about the ways in which the Russian government and its media allies attempt to overwhelm the very concept of truth, so that people don’t know what to believe and therefore don’t believe anything.
Since this is clearly the only strategy Republicans have with regard to impeachment, I couldn’t think of a more appropriate title. But I think using it more than once makes it “an ongoing series,” as with “Life in the Stupidverse”. And this time, I remembered to credit Pomerentsev (who I saw speak this week in New York, coincidentally).
And now, looking ahead to the holidays — the one-two punch of Christmas and New Years make it necessary to have something posted ahead of time for clients with early deadlines. I used to do the “year in review” rundowns, in the pre-Trump era, and every year some readers ask what happened to those. So at the risk — or, really, the actuality — of repeating myself: Trump killed them. There’s literally just too much craziness to keep track of, let alone to summarize in a couple of sixteen panel cartoons anymore. So for those two weeks I will probably be running something from the backup file.

Dan Perkins/Tom Tomorrow is has found the key to our crazy, crazy world in the machinations of the Russian president Vladimir Putin, the handler of a dedicated, conscious agent within our own government. Putin's mole in our government is none other than The LK (Lyin' King) de facto enemy of The Truth. His uttered words are mostly lies and falsehoods and his actions are treasonous. It is obvious that the various face-to-face meetings between The LK and his Russian handler have taken place behind closed doors without translators or witnesses to what passed between the Russian handler and his prized dedicated conscious agent of the Russian campaign against The Truth. Note that there was no smoking gun of witnesses to the treasonous directives from Putin to The LK. If this is a (Fair & balanced) description of treason — the ultimate impeachable HIgh Crime, so be it.
