Dispelling All Doubt

The amputee veterans of Dub's folly in Iraq probably fell out of their wheelchairs and beds when they heard Dub make a joke about being wounded. The dumb sumbitch spends hours on his "ranch" in Crawford, TX clearing cedar with a chainsaw. No self-respecting Texas rancher has even taken a chainsaw to cedar. The preferred method involves a logging chain between two pickup trucks in tandem. The trucks drag the chain, uprooting all of the opportunistic vegetation in their path. Dutch cut brush (or something) at Rancho Cielo and Dub is trying to outdo The Gipper. However, the horror of Dub making light of the wounded reveals his stupidity and callousness. Marie Antoinette was a great humanitarian compared to Dub and his Mommy Dearest. If this is (fair & balanced) disdain, so be it.

Bushism of the Day
By Jacob Weisberg

"As you can possibly see, I have an injury myself—not here at the hospital, but in combat with a cedar. I eventually won. The cedar gave me a little scratch." — After visiting with wounded veterans from the Amputee Care Center of Brooke Army Medical Center, San Antonio, Texas, January 1, 2006

Jacob Weisberg, an associate editor of Slate, has made a cottage industry (several books: Bushisms, More Bushisms, and Still More Bushisms) of the Idiot in Chief.
