The Best SOTU Analysis Yet

Dub was bullshittin' all night this past Tuesday. For example, he proposed to add 60,000 math/science teachers to the nation's school faculties. Why the hell are we 60,000 short in those fields? Math and sciences are tough! Dub can wave all of the money (or deficit-busting IOUs) he wants. To think that you can buy 60,000 unwilling and unprepared college students to go into math/science teaching is pure bullshit. A chum in WI (also a Dub-hater) sent along the most succinct analysis of the SOTU nonsense. If this is (fair & balanced) lunacy, so be it.

This year, both Groundhog Day and the State of the Union address occur(ed) in the same week.

An ironic juxtaposition of events: one involves a meaningless ritual in which we look to a creature of little intelligence for prognostication while the other involves a groundhog.
