Jack Nicholson In 2012?

This blog's stringer in America's Dairyland sent along a viral e-mail that appeared to originate with him. So, thanks to Tom Terrific, this post makes the ol' blog a vlog. Robin Williams is a national treasure, just as John Cleese belongs among the Queen's baubles in Britain. BTW, Cleese does a bit as the MC in a robe and pj's and is rolled out in a wheelchair by a pair of "nurses." At that moment, the residents are running the geriatric home. If this is a (fair & balanced) LOL comedy bit, so be it.

Robin Williams

Robin McLaurim Williams was born on July 21, 1951, in Chicago, Illinois. One of America's funniest performers, Williams attended one of the most prestigious drama schools in the country—the Juilliard School in New York City. While at Juilliard, he made friends with Christopher Reeve. He later experimented with comedy in San Francisco and Los Angeles, developing a successful stand-up act.

Williams first became known to American audiences as the zany alien Mork in the television comedy series "Mork and Mindy" (1978–82). Playing the famous spinach-eating sailor in "Popeye" (1981) was his first film and since that time he has taken on numerous comedic and dramatic roles.

He earned an Oscar nomination and a Golden Globe Award for "Good Morning Vietnam" (1987), another Oscar nomination for "Dead Poets Society" (1989), and a Best Supporting Actor Oscar for "Good Will Hunting" (1997). Other important films include "Awakenings" (1990), "Mrs. Doubtfire" (1993), and "The Birdcage" (1996). He provided the voice of the genie in "Aladdin" (1991), and the voice of Dr Know in "Artificial Intelligence: AI" (2001).

In recent years, Williams has taken on some darker material. He played a creepy photo developer in "One Hour Photo" (2002); the murder suspect in "Insomnia" (2002); and a writer and radio host who gets caught up in the mystery surrounding a troubled fan in "The Night Listener" (2006). Williams has also shown off his considerable comedic talents in several films, including "Man of the Year" (2006), a send-up of U.S. presidential politics.
