The Origins Of The Insurance Industry Racket, Redux

Back in the dawn of time (Summer 2001), when this blog was on the sidehill eating grapes, Tom Tomorrow ran a strip about the insurance industry racket. Thanks to the marvel of the Web, Tom Tomorrow was able to pluck that old artwork out of a computer file and reload it as today's strip. If this is (fair & balanced) recycling, so be it.

PS: Tom Tomorrow 'fessed up about recycling today's strip in his own blog entry for 09/14/09.

PPS: When this blogger was a boy, playing in the detritus of the cave, he'd interrupt a family story told by his maternal grandfather by asking, "Where was I (when all this great stuff was happening), Grandpa?" The old fellow (much younger then than this blogger today) would invariably reply: "You were on the sidehill, eating grapes."

Tom Tomorrow/Dan Perkins

[Dan Perkins is an editorial cartoonist better known by the pen name "Tom Tomorrow". The strip debuted in 1990 in SF Weekly.

Perkins, a long time resident of Brooklyn, New York, currently lives in Connecticut. He received the Robert F. Kennedy Award for Excellence in Journalism in both 1998 and 2002.
