Today, Sparky Sees Chuckles' Coin Objection & Raises Him Two Drones

This blog's cartoonist-in-residence, Tom Tomorrow (aka Dan Perkins), gives us a colloquy between Sparky the Wonder Penguin and Chuckles the Sensible Woodchuck about trillion-dollar coins and drone warfare. Sparky (in his trademark Inuit-style goggles to ward off bull$hit blindness) trades jabs about the scheme to mint a trillion-dollar coin and place it in the U.S. Treasury to render the debt-ceiling crisis moot. Ultimately, Sparky plays the drone warfare card in response to Chuckles' indictment of the coin-scheme as a "terrible precedent." So — to Chuckles — the coin would be unthinkable, but when Sparky mentions the drone assassination program as a bad precedent, Chuckles responds that sometimes you've got to break the rules. If this is (fair & balanced) twisted logic so be it.

PS: The New Republic's Jonathan Cohn explains why the POTUS 44 eschews the coin-gimmick here.
