Whew! This blogger needs to get a grip on reality and stop the Death Squad fantasy for dealing with the Morons. Sooooo, here is this blog's poet-in-residence The Deadline Poet (Calvin Trillin) on the Iranian nuclear crisis. Of course, The Geezer (R-AZ) during the 2008 election was captured at a rally singing his rendition of "Barbara Ann" by The Beach Boys: "Bomb bomb bomb, bomb bomb Iran..." The irony here is The Geezer has the temerity to label the 4 Horsemen of the Moron Apocalypse: "Wacko Birds." That's the wacko pot callin' out the wacko kettle; they're all totally wacko! If this is (fair & balanced) irrationality, so be it.

[Calvin Trillin began his career as a writer for Time magazine. Since July 2, 1990, as a columnist at The Nation, Trillin has written his weekly "Deadline Poet" column: humorous poems about current events. Trillin has written considerably more pieces for The Nation than any other single person. A native of Kansas City, MO, Trillin received his BA from Yale College in 1957. He served in the army, and then joined Time.]
