It’s another tight week for me — was back up at the old homestead last weekend, taking advantage of bulk trash pickup this month to clear out a lot of stuff that I no longer need or have room for in my New York life, and I’m going back up this weekend to finish up the job. I’m filing this cartoon early on Friday and hoping we get through the next ten or twelve hours, let alone the weekend, without some major news story breaking. I used to routinely post my cartoons on Fridays, without constantly wondering if they were going to be completely out of date by Monday morning. I almost can’t remember what that even felt like anymore.

This blogger sympathizes with Dan/Tom's media-fatigue. The current occupant of the Oval Office is the news with all of his compulsions and borderline idiosyncratic behaviors. This awful reality is that we are dragged into the current occupant's virtual padded room. The behavior and rants are exhausting at the very minimum. If this is a (fair & balanced) response of "Enough already," so be it.

His weekly comic strip, "This Modern World," which comments on current events from a strong liberal perspective, appears regularly in approximately 150 papers across the U.S., as well as on Daily Kos. The strip debuted in 1990 in SF Weekly. Perkins received the Robert F. Kennedy Award for Excellence in Journalism in both 1998 and 2002.
