This one was mainly a response to the “post-birth abortion” talking point that Republicans have come up with lately, this idea that women and doctors are conspiring to execute newborns that Trump has been pushing. Satire is getting harder and harder in this strange moment in which we are innundated by so many transparent lies, which Trump supporters either believe or are willing to pretend to believe in order to own the libs. Have I mentioned before how exhausting all of this is? It’s exhausting!
I’m thinking about making signed prints available again, since I just bought a spiffy new printer. (“Spiffy” is a word that we don’t use often enough, and also a word that looks made up if you stare at it too long.) They’ll be on 8.5 x 11 matte paper, printed with (extremely expensive) archival inks. I want to give this whole thing a test run this week and make sure the printer is working, not to mention the Paypal button, so I’m going to offer them to the first 10 of you to click here [print test run is sold out already] and order. If everything goes smoothly, I’ll make more available next week!
I’m also offering them to subscribers for $30 each, including postage; the public price will probably be $40. For now, the only cartoons available are the ones you can find in my Nib archive here. (I apologize if you have a favorite from 20 years ago that you really, really want, but I need to keep this manageable for the moment. We’ll see how this little experiment goes, and then I’ll tweak things from there.) (Also, apologies if you don’t like Paypal, I’m not crazy about them either, but it’s the only payment system I can manage for now.) I’m not sure what the user experience will be with this button — after the ten prints I’ve allocated are sold it *should* just bump you back to my main page, but we’ll see if that actually works!
Also, this is a bare-bones interface for now; I’ll clean it up a bit before it goes beyond this list!
Until next week …
