In yesterday's e-mail which delivered today's TMW 'toon, TomDan wrote:
Hey all,
Traveling this weekend — taking my son back to Iowa to hang out with his grandfather — so this is one of those weeks where I’m writing these words a few days before you’ll read them. So, if something absurdly terrible has happened in the last few days, I don’t know about it yet as I’m writing these words.
Also if there are any typos in this one, well, too late for me. I’ve proofed it a couple of times, hopefully I’m not missing anything.
You may have seen the viral clip of the conservative woman who had no idea that there was anything negative in the Mueller report until Justin Amash explained it. Or maybe you saw Trump insisting that there were huge crowds in London supporting him and barely any protestors, when there are literally photographs proving the opposite. It really is as if the Trumpkins believe what’s portrayed in this cartoon. And, I know, some of you are inevitably going to respond with some variation of “they won’t understand that it’s satire, this really is what they believe!” But in this day and age, I can’t let that be a factor in my writing. When people take A Modest Proposal as a *serious* proposal, what can the satirist do, but shake his/her/their head and keep moving forward.
Until next week…,
Dan/Tom
The real FAKE, of course, is the HA (Horse's A$$) in the Oval Office. The Lamestream Media reinforces the falsehood by a constant reference to "President HA." The scumbag who defiles his position constantly is as authentic as a 3-dollar bill. This blogger finds himself replying out loud whenever the HA's disgusting voice comes out of the TV set or a radio and those replies turn the air blue. Never in this blogger's lifetime has this behavior ever occurred until 2016. Give this blogger "Pocahontas" anytime in preference to Broke-a-hontas, the Fake Billionaire who has no money in that amount. If this is a (fair & balanced) rejection of fakery and inauthenticity, so be it.
