Along with today's 'toon, Tom/Dan included the following comment:
Hey all,
Yet another attempt to summarize yet another week that seemed to last a year. And of course, I’m still only brushing the surface. I woke up Friday morning to find that we had almost gone to war, and as I was wrapping up for the week, the President of the United States was credibly accused of rape (once again), and the news barely even made a ripple. I don't think the human mind is built to deal with this level of constant chaos.
Thanks to those of you who ordered the books from yesterdays note, and apologies to those who saw the note too late. My friends at Topatoco uncovered a dozen remaining copies of TMW25, and since these count as “my” stock (rather than an item they produced at their own expense), I was going to have to pay pallet fees on them if I didn’t clear them out. Fortunately, problem solved now.
In other news: I’m finally ready to make another run at offering signed prints! These remain a Sparky’s List exclusive for the moment, and for the foreseeable future. The details: prints are on 8.5x11 matte paper, printed with (extremely pricey) archival inks. I’m making 25 available this week, once those are sold out, you won’t be able to order until I open it up again. (I’m doing my best to keep this manageable and not let it overwhelm my time!)
Note: due to sales tax regulations that I haven’t had time to figure out, I cannot accept any orders from New York State, sorry.
Prints are $30 plus $8 postage (I send them out priority mail in thick cardboard envelopes). *ONE PER CUSTOMER*. Multiple orders will be cancelled entirely I want as many people as possible who want these things to have a chance to get them.
For now, the only cartoons available are the ones you can find in my Nib archive here. (I apologize if you have a favorite from 20 years ago that you really, really want, but as I say, I need to keep this manageable.)
Once you choose the cartoon you want, go here and order. Paste the link to the cartoon in the appropriate box, and if you want it personalized, put your name in the second box. (Also, apologies if you don’t like Paypal, I’m not crazy about them either, but it’s the only payment system I can manage for now. I’m not set up to take checks in the mail or anything like that.)
If you scored one of the books yesterday, maybe sit this one out and let others have the first crack at it.
Okay, it’s a beautiful day in New York and I’m going to go hang out with some friends in a park and try not to think about the orange man.
Until next week….
Dan/Tom
And you have all of the news from Tom Tomorrow (Dan Perkins). For this blogger, it was (groan) another 'toon appearance by the "Orange Man." The posts over the past two days have been free of the inane babble and phony crises , foreign and domestic, receiving 24/7 coverage by the Lamestream Media. Now, it is back to the same, old six and seven more blather from The -HA- (-Horse's A$$-) LK (Lyin' King) in the Oval Office. This blogger used the LK substitute for HA in an e-mail to a group of friends and the generous response has committed this blogger to refer to the current occupant of the Oval Office as the LK until the cows come home. If this is a (fair & balanced) return of temporary insanity, so be it.
